YouTube Music has introduced a revamped web design, offering a brand new layout for albums and playlists. These changes aim to enhance your music listening experience. Here are the details:
YouTube Music web design updated: Changes in albums and playlists
The new design brings the dual-column layout introduced on Android tablets to the web. On the left side, you will find album information. The album’s name and the artist’s name are prominently displayed. Additionally, details such as the release date, the total number of tracks, and the total playtime of the album are included in this section.
An expandable album description from Wikipedia is also present here. This section features a large play/pause button along with options for downloading, adding to the library, sharing, and other menu choices, all within easy reach.
On the right side, the songs in the album are listed. This section has been made more vibrant and dynamic with a blurred background. This small but effective touch makes the web interface more modern and attractive. Playlists also follow the dual-column layout, making the screen space more efficiently used and allowing quick access to the desired information. Organizing and listening to your playlists is now easier.
This update comes after YouTube Music added offline download support with the Progressive Web App (PWA). Additionally, the desktop “Now Playing” user interface has been aligned with the mobile version. The redesign of albums and playlists is now widely available on the web. If you haven’t seen it yet, try reloading YouTube Music by closing and reopening the Progressive Web App or the browser tab.
Furthermore, YouTube Music is now available on Garmin devices. For iPhone users, swipe gestures for skipping tracks forward/backward have been added, and a button to disconnect without stopping playback has been included in the YouTube Music Cast menu.
